Understanding the Risks of Gymnastics
Participating in a sport like gymnastics is exciting and rewarding, but it’s important to remember that it comes with its own set of risks. Just like any physical activity, gymnastics can lead to bumps, bruises, or even more serious injuries. Our coaches at Miyagi Gymnastics Academy are trained to prioritize safety and teach proper techniques, but we all know that sometimes gravity has other plans! Whether you’re practicing flips, tumbling, or just hanging out in the waiting area, there’s always a chance of an unexpected twist or turn. That’s why we encourage everyone to be aware of their surroundings and follow our safety guidelines. After all, a little caution goes a long way in keeping the fun going!
Payment Policies
To keep things running smoothly, we do require a payment card to be kept on file. Don’t worry—you don’t have to use this card for payments if you don’t want to. But if no other payment method is provided or no changes are made before the payment dates, the card on file will be charged. We want to avoid any hiccups, so please note that payments received after the due date will have a $5 late fee. Tuition is added to your gym account a week before it’s due, giving you plenty of time to handle payments through your Parent Portal before the charge date. Tuition is charged on the 1st of each month. If payment isn’t made by the end of the first week, there’s a chance your child could be dropped from classes, though charges will still apply. Returned checks will incur a $20 fee.
For those in our Junior Olympic and Excel Team programs, please note that team tuition and payments operate on a month-to-month basis, as outlined in the team handbook. Team policies may be different from the ones mentioned here, so be sure to check the handbook for all the details.
Discounts
We also offer some great discounts! There’s a 10% discount for the second child and each additional child, and a 30% discount for the second class and each additional class after that. You can join classes at any time, and if you enroll mid-month, we’ll pro-rate the tuition for the number of classes left.
Make Ups
To show the best progress, your child should attend the regular class, but if an absence is unavoidable, we do allow one make-up per month.
Unenrolling
We understand that plans can change, so if you need to drop a class, please fill out the drop form and email it to the gym before the next month’s tuition is posted—a week before the 1st. This helps us plan our coaches’ schedules and gives waitlist students a chance to join. If we don’t receive the form in time, your child will remain enrolled, and the tuition for the new month will be charged. Students who drop after payment is received will remain enrolled through the month paid and have a future drop date of the last class of the month. Thanks for helping us keep things running smoothly!
